Who says pita bread only tastes good when stuffed with kebab meat? Contrary to popular belief, this scrumptious Israeli sandwich, the sabich, fills the floury pita base with boiled eggs, hummus, aubergine, pickles and tahini sauce. There are different variants of this popular sandwich, a vegan edition which uses white beans instead of eggs. It tastes just as amazing and has fans all over the nation.
Banh Mi – Vietnam
This popular Vietnamese sandwich has become many self-proclaimed foodies’ sandwich of choice. It is traditionally made using a Vietnamese baguette and usually stuffed with some sort of grilled meat such as pork belly. One of the most gorgeous-looking sandwiches, other ingredients that go into its making include fresh cilantro, jalapenos, pickled carrots, cucumbers, and French mayonnaise.
Chivito – Uruguay
This delicious sandwich originated in a Uruguayan restaurant and is the country's national dish. According to the locals, it is also their most popular culinary export. Chivito translates to ‘little goat'. While the name of the sandwich implies that it uses goat meat, Chivito, in fact, is made up of beef, bacon or ham. It is usually complemented by hard-boiled eggs, lettuce, tomato and mozzarella. A side of fries and mayonnaise go perfectly well with it.

One of the tastiest and most comforting creations of the United States is their unbeatable grilled cheese sandwich. Traditionally, it is prepared by layering slice cheese between two slices of white bread. Then it is grilled until the bread turns golden brown and crisp and the cheese is all gooey and melted.
