Classic cocktails will always have a special place in our hearts and on cocktail menus around the world. But the year 2019 saw a lot more than these traditional tipples. Bartenders are now playing around with new ingredients and never-before-heard of concepts that might actually surprise you.
We got in touch with Diageo India’s Brand Ambassadors who gave us an interesting mix of cocktail recipes they made this year. From turmeric cocktails to mushroom mixes, here are some of the trendiest cocktails we discovered in 2019.
A dollop of butter does not only go well with your toast but also your cocktail. Butter cocktails are made through a process of fat-washing the alcohol and then using it in the cocktail.
60ml Butter-washed Johnnie Walker Black Label
15ml Lime juice
15ml Sugar syrup
60ml Smoked pineapple juice (Pineapple smoked over coal like a barbeque and then juiced)
Pinch of salt
Pineapple slice and cocktail bitters for garnish
Add all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake hard.
Strain it in a glass. Garnish and serve.
Tanqueray Turmeric Fizz
Turmeric lattes are a great way to start your morning. But for the evenings, when it’s a little late for a latte, you can count on turmeric cocktails to add some sunshine to your life.
60ml Tanqueray gin infused with turmeric
15ml fresh lime juice
Pinch of salt
Turmeric powder or grated fresh turmeric, for garnish
Add all the above ingredients in a cocktail shaker (except the egg whites).
Fill a shaker with ice cubes, then egg whites and shake hard.
Strain it in a highball glass.
Slowly fill soda from the centre of the glass.
Add garnish and serve.
Mango Get Her
Yogurt was not only meant to be eaten with biryani, it works as a great pairing with a cocktail too.
60ml Ketel One vodka
30ml mango yogurt
2 dash orange bitters
20ml fresh lime juice
Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Top with sparkling water and garnish as you wish.
Just asking for Truffle
Turns out, you can not only eat your mushrooms but sip them too.

20ml fresh yellow lemon juice
30ml pouring cream
15ml sugar syrup
5 drops of white truffle oil
In a shaker, add everything and shake very hard until the ice is completely gone.
