Mixing new cocktails is all about experimenting, don’t you agree? And the most common ingredient used to experiment with is tea. This particular one is made with dried petals of the hibiscus flower, imparting a tart, cranberry-like flavour and colour.
Hibiscus not only adds a beautiful hue to the drink, but mixes well with the citrus flavors, and juniper notes from the gin. So, here’s a recipe for you which has almost all the ingredients from your backyard.
60ml Tanqueray gin
30ml hibiscus tea
30ml grapefruit juice
30ml lemon juice
15ml simple syrup
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for approximately 30 seconds to chill and combine. Strain into a highball glass. Fill glass with crushed ice. Garnish with a grapefruit slice and mint.
Now that you’ve got this epic recipe, get mixing already!
