Trends come and go, but Boba is here to stay. No, it’s not a dance trend from the 80s but our favourite drink trend with chewy tapioca pearls mixed up with all sorts of yum flavours. (Never heard of Boba? We’ll help you get your hands on it.)
A slushy tea-based drink, Bubble or Boba Tea is literally a blast of flavours in your mouth-and can be paired up with fruits, ice-cream, and even Baileys!
Now, don’t act all surprised, okay? Baileys goes well with everything. It’s science!
And to prove it, I’ve listed down my fav Bubble Tea and Baileys combinations so let’s get this boba party started!
1. Baileys Irish Cream Vanilla Chai Boba
Skip your regular chai and opt for this Vanilla Chai Boba.
60ml Baileys Irish Cream
2 tea bags
5 cups water
1 cup sugar
¼ cup dried tapioca pearls
Add 2 cups water in a saucepan and boil it. Add dried tapioca pearls, stir and cook for 5-10 minutes.
Drain the boba pearls and soak them in vanilla syrup.
Soak the tea bags in two cups of water and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Add Baileys Irish Cream, boba pearls, tea and ice in a cocktail glass. Add ice then stir.
Garnish it with whipped cream.
2. Baileys Irish Cream Birthday Cake Bubble
Birthday or no birthday, you should take a sip of this heavenly bubble tea!
40ml Baileys Irish Cream
½ cup of cake batter
½ cup milk
In a shaker, add everything except tapioca pearls and ice. Shake for 10 seconds.
In a cocktail glass, place the tapioca pearls, add the mix and enjoy your drink!
3. Baileys Irish Cream Bubble Red Tea
Chocolaty Baileys Irish Cream + Chewy Tapioca pearls = Heaven!
40ml Baileys Irish Cream
2 Red tea bags
2 cups milk
¼ cup sugar
Raspberry, for garnish
In a saucepan, add water and boil it. Add tapioca pearls, stir and cook for 5-10 minutes. Add sugar, raspberry syrup and water again. Set aside.
Add the red tea bags in milk and simmer until almost boiling. Then let it cool down.
In a cocktail glass, add Baileys Irish Cream, tea, and boba pearls. Garnish with raspberries and serve!
4. Baileys Irish Cream Pineapple Rooibos Bubble Tea
There is something about the tangy taste of pineapples mixed with exotic rooibos tea that makes it a party starter!
50ml Baileys Irish Cream
½ cup pineapple
½ cooled rooibos tea
1 tbsp maple syrup
¼ cup tapioca pearls
Boil tapioca pearls in a saucepan and let it sit for 10 minutes.
In a blender, add pineapple and ice and blend till you get a smooth consistency.
In a cocktail glass, add Baileys Irish Cream, tapioca pearls and top it with pineapple smoothie.
